Crystals and Herbs for Anxiety

I have been working hard (who hasn’t?) and doing many things recently that are well beyond the limits of my comfort zone.  In a way, I am pleased with myself for trying to take these little extra steps (I am tremendously shy, bordering on introverted, which surprises many people).  However, the downside is that I suffer from anxiety; I am naturally-inclined to worry about everything, and seeing as though I haven’t posted a Crystals and Herbs for…post for a while, I thought I would merge the two together.

  • Chrysoprase is good for nervous anxiety; it is said to be able to stop you worrying about things you can’t change and is also used to guard against nightmares and that which prevents you from getting a good night’s sleep.
  • Blue Calcite is a deeply calming crystal; it is said that it is is able to relieve tension, calm the nerves and settle anxiety.
  • Any black stones, such as tourmaline, onyx, obsidian, etc,  are good when attempting to combat anxiety.  They have strong earthy energies, good for grounding and are the ultimate when trying to stop anxiety from getting out of control.

  • Lavender is one of the best herbs to use when nerves are a little frayed, as it is regarded as a soothing, calming herb.  Useful to help make one relax and unwind.
  • Fennel is good for anxiety; it will also help relieve feelings of nausea.
  • Lemon Balm is known for its abilities to help one relax and calm, and combined with other herbs, such as lavender, is used as an aid to sleep.

This is only a small selection of the herbs and crystals that are thought to be useful when trying to deal with anxiety.  Others may resonate better with you.

Brightest Blessings ~*~)O(~*~

* Please note that I do not advocate the taking of any homemade herbal remedy unless you know what you are doing – this post only suggests uses for herbs in magic.

  3. Can I begin by LOL?…me too! This Dreamweaver Web Design class is a little above my computer knowledge and ability, I have had to pay a tutor to assist me. This play I am directing is ok but without a car, things are difficult. However for three days I get paid to pet sit, get away from everyone and everything, it is like a paid vacation. Yea!!! LOL I just took a Xanax and going to nap. 🙂

I had the most interesting dream last night. That by day I attended a private school in Europe and went home everyday to the US via teleportation I guess and I think the teacher was Obama. lol

Excellent suggestions. I’ve also found that a worry stone can work wonders too, when you’re out and don’t have access to other tools.

That is such a great idea! Thanks for sharing it. It’s always good to have something so inconspicuous hidden in the handbag, just in case. Then you’ve always got something to hand if you need it. 🙂 Brightest Blessings ~*~)O(~*~

  5. Great post Sammi – just up my street. Can I also add that camomile tea is a must for us all in the evening – I never miss a night without it. It calms and soothes us and aids restful sleep. Brightest blessings.

Thanks so much; I shall have to get back into the habit of increasing the number of cups of herbal tea I have a day. It has slowly dwindled. 😦 So chamomile is going back on the list. Brightest Blessings ~*~)O(~*~

  6. I must admit I haven’t tried crystals yet, but herbs.. oh yes. I have tried several relaxing herbal mixes that I got in herbal store and yes all were based on lavendel and fennel and they worked. However I love simply camomile tea with honey and a little of vanilla.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I have chamomile tea with honey sometimes but I don’t really like the taste so thank you for sharing your tip about adding vanilla to it. I shall certainly be trying this! Thanks so much. Brightest Blessings ~*~)O(~*~

I should try one of these herbs.I hate being on edege all the time. Now the trick is trying to find the herbs.

Being on edge is no fun at all. A few others have commented here about using chamomile which is far easier to come by ready prepared in supermarkets. Brightest Blessings ~*~)O(~*~

I like rescue remedy, a Bach Flower tincture. But makes me head blind.

    • sammiwitch says:

I have never got round to using any Bach Flower remedies, but I shall certainly keep my eye out for that. Thanks for commenting. 🙂 Brightest Blessings ~*~)O(~*~
