First Snow

We woke up this morning to the first dusting of snow in our area; it wasn’t much, but it was just enough to make it feel like Christmas was almost here.

It was quite fitting because tonight the village’s Christmas tree lights were switched on.  The village band turned out and some of the village came together to sing carols.  We listened and sang along in our back garden (we live close to where the Christmas tree is).  It was beautiful; we would have joined the gathering, but I have a cold and well…my singing voice wasn’t up to scratch but I have to sing along.  It was good enough for the back garden 🙂

I just love carols; we sang Silent Night, We Three Kings, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, amongst others. It was a lovely evening but cold; the sky was clear, lit up by all the stars. Sometimes it only takes a little thing to make a night special…

I’m jelous that you got snow!! We did get a light dusting of snow a week or so ago. However it vanished. I get more and more shocked each year as it seems to snow less and less and lighter and lighter. It’s also not very cold for most days. 😦 It’s doesn’t seem like christmas at all. lol

Unfortunately all the snow has gone now; it lasted for about 24 hours, but then the weather warmed up 😦 And now the sky is clear and the sun is shining. I agree it doesn’t sound too much like Christmas at the moment. Brightest Blessings

  2. How charming you live in a village.

  3. That is perfect, except for your sore throat, of course. Brightest Blessings.
